I.R. Remote Control Systems

GAMA I.R. transmitters and receivers are designed to provide wireless remote control for a variety of applications. Infrared transmission is a good choice when multiple transmitters are used in close proximity or when operation is to be limited to line-of-sight. Typical application for our infrared controls include control of AC & DC motors, hoist/winch controls, and lighting devices.

Most application for our decives are custom in nature due to unique requirements requested by individual customers. We have, however, designed the basic products so they can be modified quickly and inexpensively to provide a variety of custom options. A number of standard transmitter/receivers are available for evaluation and prototype purposes.

Range Issues

Since infrared transmission is limited to line of signt, our experience has shown that a 100' range is acceptable for indoor applications. To increase range beyond this distance greater transmitter power is required which means a larger transmitter package. Outdoor infrared transmission is much more difficult due to the effect sunlight has on I.R. transmissions. For example, a transmitter/receiver that functions at 100' indoors may have a range of only 5' - 10' in full sunlight. We have developed an outdoor I.R. transmitter/receiver that will function up to 500' in full sunlight.
